pledge allegiance to Soroptimist, and to the ideals for which it
stands.
The
Sincerity of Friendship, the Joy of Achievement,
the
Dignity of Service, the Integrity of Profession, the Love of Country.
I
will put forth my greatest effort to promote, uphold and defend
these ideals
for
a larger fellowship, in home, in society, in business for country
and for God.

- Soroptimists
was founded in 1921 in Oakland, CA by 80 women. The organization
has grown to almost 100,000 members in 122 countries. Soroptimist
clubs are organized into districts, regions, and federations.
- The name
Soroptimists is coined from two Latin words - "Soror" (sister)
and "Optomus" (the best), translated to mean "The Best for Women."
- Soroptimist
International is a worldwide service organization of business
and professional members dedicated to providing service to others
in six programs of service areas:
- Economic
& Social Development
- Education
- Environment
- Health
- Human

& Understanding
